SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA, May 3, 2018 – The Worldwide Broker Network™ (WBN), the world’s largest network of independent commercial insurance brokers and employee benefits consultants, is pleased to announce the election of three Board members at its Global Conference in San Antonio, Texas held April 11th-14th.
Susan Murphy, is President & Chief Executive Officer of Totten Insurance Group (a Hub International owned company). One of Canada’s leading national MGA providers of niche and speciality products. Susan’s 20+ years of experience with international clients in all aspects of the insurance industry will bring significant value to the WBN Board. Susan is also a member of the WBN US and Canada Steering Committee.
Susan is responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction at Totten Insurance Group with a focus on product development and best in class service to clients.Prior to moving to Totten Group, she was Chief Marketing Officer for Hub Canada and has held executive leadership positions with CNA Canada, GCAN Insurance and RSA.
Susan is a graduate of Harvard Business School and DePaul University’s Executive Leadership Program. She has written and contributed to many industry articles in National Insurance publications. Together with other Hub senior executives, created the Hub Women of Action network.
Susan resides in Toronto, Canada with her Husband Vince.
Matteo Scagliarini, CEO, Andrea Scagliarini SpA, Bologna, Italy. Mr. Scagliarini has served as Director of Andrea Scagliarini SpA, the company founded by his uncle Andrea, since 1999. He has served Scagliarini SpA as CEO since 2004, which under his leadership has become a prominent broker for multinational clients in the Italian marketplace.
A member of the WBN European Steering Committee and of the Italian Brokers Association (AIBA) Board, Matteo has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance and reinsurance industries. Before joining Scagliarini, Matteo worked as reinsurance broker in Paris.
Passionate in his work and keen on nurturing young talents, Matteo is the fourth generation of his family working as an insurance intermediary.
Matteo graduated from the Bologna University, the oldest in the world, with a degree in Economics cum laude. Before college, he was an intern for an Italian bank in Los Angeles. During his course of studies, he spent 6 months in Belgium as part of an exchange program for European students. Matteo resides in Bologna with his wife Paola and their 4 children, Jacopo, Valentina, Ginevra and Luca.
Markham McKnight, President and CEO, BXS Insurance, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, was re-elected to serve an additional term as a WBN Board member. Markham McKnight has served as President and CEO of BXS Insurance, formerly BancorpSouth Insurance Services, since 2005.Prior to his current position, he was the President of Baton Rouge-based insurance brokerage firm, Wright & Percy Insurance. McKnight oversaw BancorpSouth’s acquisition of the firm in 2003.
McKnight served as WBN’s Board Chairman from 2014 to 2016.Markham is also past chairman of The Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers (CIAB) and serves as chairman of CIAB’s charitable educational organization, the Council Foundation. He sits on the board of the Institutes, the leading provider of risk management and property-casualty insurance education, is a member of the World Presidents Organization (WPO), and a member of the Chief Executives Organization (CEO). In addition, he is a board member and treasurer of the Louisiana Insurance Guaranty Association, a position that the Louisiana Insurance Commissioner appoints.
Markham received his bachelor’s degree and MBA from Louisiana State University. He resides in Baton Rouge, with his wife, four children, and eight grandchildren.
